CDL Transportation Scholarship

 

The CDL Transportation Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to a Proviso East, Proviso West, or PMSA High School senior who wants to attend an accredited trade/vocational or two year college located within the United States.
Chevae Langston, is a class of 1995 Proviso East High School graduate.  Mr. Langston is the successful business owner and president of a local trucking company--CDL Transportation, Inc. He believes high school graduates, who may want to attend a trade or vocational school after graduation versus the traditional educational pursuit, should have the chance to pursue their dreams. Therefore, he wants students desiring to pursue non-traditional educational avenues to have financial support.    

Scholarship criteria:
  1. Must be a Proviso East High School graduating senior.
  2. 2.5 or higher GPA.
  3. Official high school transcript.
  4. Two letters of reference from a counselor or teacher.
  5. Completion of the required essay- 250 words minimum.  "How will this scholarship assist in pursuing your future aspirations?"
  6. Proof of enrollment in a trade/vocational school, or two-year college in the United States.

April 30, 2025... All supporting documents are due by April 30, 2025
All applicants will be notified by June 16, 2025 of their status. Payment to scholarship winner will be disbursed during Proviso East's Homecoming weekend (TBA).
