The Glenn Lid Trade Scholarship

 

The Glenn Lid Trade Scholarship provides a $1,000 award to  a student desiring to continue his or her education through getting a certification or training in a trade or vocational school. 

Glenn Lid has been a teacher, a coach for wrestling, boys' baseball, golf, and football for 43 years! Although he is not a graduate of Proviso East, he bleeds blue. Throughout his tenure as a teacher, he could be found conversing with students about life, sports, and career paths. Mr. Lid is known for reaching students where they are and helping them achieve levels in life beyond their dreams. 

Scholarship Criteria: 
  1. Must be a Proviso East High School graduating senior.
  2.  2.5 Grade Point Average or higher.
  3.  Completion of the required essay- 250 words minimum.  "How will this scholarship assist in pursuing your future aspirations?"
  4.  Proof of good attendance.
  5.  Two letters (2) of recommendations.
  6.  Documented of school accreditation or certification.
  7.  Proof of acceptance and registration in the school.
* DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION SUBMISSION- 
April 1, 2025. All supporting documents are due by April 1, 2026
All applicants will be notified by May 1, 2026 of their status. Payment to scholarship winner will be disbursed during Proviso East's Homecoming weekend (TBA).
