The Rashida (Gray) McKelvin Business Scholarship
The Rashida (Gray) McKelvin Business Scholarship provides a $2,000 scholarship for a student who will major in business.
Rashida is a Proviso Alumnus of the Proviso East Class of 1993. She is a Certified Management Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mrs. McKelvin also holds an MBA from DePaul University. Additionally, Rashida was the first African American school board member in Komarek School's, then eighty-six year, history in North Riverside, Illinois. She currently sits on the Committee on Ethics board with the Institute of Management Accountants. Rashida has served as the finance controller, but continues to serve in various leadership roles within the committee.
Scholarship Criteria:
1. Must be a Proviso East High School graduating senior.
2. 2.75 grade point average or higher
3. 300 word essay
4. Two (2) letters of recommendation
5. Proof of good attendance.
6. Documentation of school accreditation and certification.
7. Proof of acceptance and registration in the school.

April 30, 2024. All supporting documents due May 31, 2024
All applicants will be notified by August 15, 2024 of their status. Payment to scholarship winner will be disbursed during Proviso East's Homecoming weekend (TBA).
